Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a condition where unwanted, intrusive thoughts (called obsessions) create intense anxiety, leading to repetitive behaviors or rituals (called compulsions) to try to feel better or "undo" the fear. These thoughts and behaviors can become exhausting and time-consuming.
OCD is not about being “quirky” or neat—it’s a real condition that can seriously affect day-to-day life, relationships, and emotional health.
Common Symptoms of OCD:
- Repetitive fears (e.g., fear of germs, harming others, or making a mistake)
- Compulsions like checking, cleaning, counting, or asking for reassurance
- Feeling like something “bad” will happen if you don’t complete a ritual
- Spending an hour or more a day on these thoughts or behaviors
- Difficulty concentrating or enjoying activities because of obsessive thinking

How We Treat OCD
We use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), a gold-standard form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) specifically designed for OCD. ERP helps you gradually face your fears while resisting the urge to do the compulsions—so your brain learns that you're safe without them.
We also integrate techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you relate to your thoughts in a new way. Instead of fighting or avoiding them, you'll learn to let them come and go while staying connected to your values and goals.
