Starting therapy does not have to be intimidating. See answers to our most commonly asked questions below.
If you’ve been feeling low, unmotivated, or struggling to manage day-to-day responsibilities like work, self-care, or relationships, therapy might be a helpful next step. Maybe your relationships are feeling strained, or your usual ways of coping—such as avoiding emotions or turning to substances—are beginning to cause more harm than good.
You might also notice an increase in anxiety or stress, whether in social settings, at work, or at home. Are you constantly battling negative thoughts, overthinking, or harsh self-criticism that’s interfering with your sleep, relationships, or performance?
Perhaps you’re dealing with perfectionism that’s preventing you from completing tasks, or you’re struggling with body image or unhealthy patterns around food. Intrusive thoughts or repetitive behaviors may also be making life feel overwhelming.
If any of these challenges sound familiar—or if you're navigating other emotional or psychological struggles—therapy can help. We specialize in evidence-based treatment for a variety of concerns. Reach out to schedule an appointment and take the first step toward feeling better.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a highly effective form of talk therapy that focuses on how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are interconnected. It works from the idea that how we interpret situations influences how we feel and act.
In CBT, you’ll learn to recognize unhelpful thought patterns and beliefs that may be fueling your distress—such as anxiety, depression, or self-doubt—and replace them with more balanced, realistic ones. On the behavioral side, we’ll explore habits and coping mechanisms that may be keeping you stuck and work together to develop healthier, more adaptive responses.
Research shows that CBT often leads to noticeable improvement in symptoms within approximately 20 sessions, though individual experiences may vary. This approach is structured, goal-oriented, and proven to bring lasting results.
Standard therapy sessions are 50 minutes long. However, if you prefer a longer session—for deeper work or specific needs—we’re happy to offer 90-minute appointments by request.
Most clients begin with weekly sessions, which provide the consistency needed to build momentum and make progress. As you start feeling more confident and stable, you may choose to move to biweekly sessions. Typically, you and your therapist will select a recurring day and time for your appointments.

To get started, contact your insurance company and ask:
- Does my plan cover outpatient, out-of-network behavioral health services?
- Is there a deductible I need to meet first? (Note: behavioral health deductibles may be different from medical ones.)
- What percentage of the total cost will I be reimbursed for CPT code 90837 (standard individual therapy)?
